Best Swimwear Music for Glitz Pageants

If you’re entering your daughter in glitz pageants that include a swimwear category, you’ll definitely want to enter that. In some cases, you might not have a choice. In many pageants, however, swimwear is an optional category. That means you don’t have to enter it, but if there’s a supreme title of a mini-supreme title, the scores from swimwear will almost certainly be figured into the overall score. If you don’t enter all the categories that are counted in the overall score, your chances of winning an overall title will be zip.

If you have the choice of choosing your own song to accompany your child’s swimwear walk, be sure to pick a rock or pop song that’s lively and upbeat. The music doesn’t have to have a swimming or surfing theme, but I’ve always thought that such songs were good choices for this event. Some of the best songs for swimwear are the old sixties’ surfing songs. Good examples are “Surfing USA,” by the Beach Boys; “Surf City,” by Jan and Dean; “California Sun,” by the Rivieras; “Surf Beat,” by Dick Dale and his Del-Tones, and “Point Panic,” by the Surfaris. If your daughter is small, a cute song to accompany her swimwear routine would be “Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polda-Dot Bikini,” by Brian Hyland.
