I have 14 years and I really want to learn to play drums. I already had the band in school for 5 years, but only learned the basics (a little) and I'm not sure if taking classes is the best idea, because they want to waste time without much learning. I try to learn to play more "in general" as opposed to learn certain songs, because it helps me if I join a band or something. So what I do? Are there any good books to buy? Some videos on youtube? Some tips are welcome. Please send to your friends if you think you could help me too. Need answers!
Find someone with a guitar and play with them. I played with someone almost every day for 3 months and I'm getting better and spend 3 months in a couple years ago.

What happened to that jurisdiction and is something you want to use in church but do not know how most songs modern worship from that give you a better idea of the agreement he learned to play a complete partition.
There are thousands of pianists who dropped out there took kinds of classic children have grown and Fur Elise and the Moonlight Sonata but it feels good deep down her face I'm here to worship. Now it is ironic when you consider how easy it is to play contemporary worship songs both days – are much less difficult than most of the music that you've learned to perfection as a child. The role of keyboard has developed very rapidly in recent years.
Traditionally, the organist or pianist was the only musician. They played all the bass, tenor, high soprano notes and most of them were able to read a musical score. Since 1960, however, the guitar has come to dominate much of our praise music and more contemporary instruments have also become important. With lead singers and the congregation to take the line of soprano, chorus and harmonies pick the low parts of men, it is easy to see why the organ and piano may have fallen from grace. With so many other people and the tools do the work the pianist is used to do all that exaggerate the piano.
What do we do? pianists in response? Learn to play guitar? Not at all – Keyboard still has a vital role to play and the good news is that it not be as relevant as before for a good sound. So what's the secret? Well, if you gave a piece of the partition agreement without just use their knowledge of scales to learn what to play. If you see the chord, you play a triad C – C, E and G. We d suggest you play with your right hand and a C in the bass with the left (you can play two Cs as an octave in the bass if you feel safe).
C is the qualification nucleus, E is one third higher than the G is fifth above that. You follow the same pattern of large scale if you see a D, you play a D, F # and A). With smaller scales (Eg if you see Cm) is at the end of the third one semitone to Cm is C, Eb and G. Dm D, F and A. There are some other common arrangements – such as SUS agreements or seventh, but using a basic triad is pretty good for starters.
The first job of a good keyboard player, is learning all Major and minor chords, so they are natural and easy to play. Once you learn these you can begin using various "setbacks" to make your game much smoother. To play a different sound your right hand you can play the third note with the thumb, pinky and the third three with the little finger – can be in any order. Your goal here is to minimize movement on the keyboard when moving from one agreement to another. If your knowledge of scales is not so large that if some of the more difficult keys that you can not remember exactly which notes how the root, third and fifth here is a little trick to help. Let G major. Place your thumb on the note G and the number of semitones on the keyboard. G # Is 2, A 2, Bb and B is 3 April. The half-tone fourth of the root is the third in the agreement. Now we find the fifth. Count C to B. is 1, C # is 2 and 3 D. His fifth grade in the agreement is D. This model simply counting semitones from the root of large-scale works. With the scale of gravity, you can count three semitones from the root to find the third and fourth that half-tones to find the fifth.

If for the moment what you can do is find good grades in play. As the confidence to win only by playing with some simply worship CD holding the rope to the top of each bar or each time it changes – is likely to sound better with a chain or a soft cushion and remember to use a sustain pedal – actually, with a bunch of songs that could play in a situation like this band and no shame at all! The following is to add some rhythm – is a lesson to all new and we do not have space for today. A word of warning – if you see a string with a slash mark on what you have to play another note in the bass with his left hand. B / F # B means, literally, the triad of F #. So with the right hand is playing a triad B is B, D and F # #, and with the left hand plays an F #.
Now, you may have noticed that playing the role chain to minimize the keyboard while playing the melody – it is usually not necessary with singers and the congregation that covers it, and often the instruments like flutes and violins, which also covered. It can sometimes be useful – this is where your ability to return to the score and play a melody on top of these agreements come in. There are many other interesting things you can do – such as the use of what we call the auxiliary and passing notes. Take a little practice to get used to playing with the ropes, but believe me, if you persevere you'll never want to return – and your group will be very happy to have a better feel contemporary with the keyboard.

Can use regular bass drum pedal, electric or are they different?
I'll get an electric drum set soon and I wondered if I would be able to use the pedals of the same acoustic drums? Oh, and before leaving really sarcastic comments about electric kits being gay, I live in an apartment, and I can not work here.
Yes you can. I bring my double bass pedal for my drum lessons to play in the electrical equipment and work very well. In addition, electrical kits are better than the interference of acoustic kits IMO

There are many different associations that can be done with the word "drum." By age, where in the world are you and what type of music you can not hear based on a Caribbean steel drum with a Chinese "Crazy" when you hear the drum this word. Yes, there are many faces on the instrument known as "drum." But I must admit I would be curious to know how many people, when asked what associated with that word, which come with the electric battery.
While a traditional drum vintage acoustic vibrations used to produce a sound, a drum machine using a sampler or electronic waveforms. Instead of being an instrument with a shell and a drum, these instruments have electronic drum pads. These blocks contain piezoelectric transducers are transducers (using crystals to generate electric potentials in response to applied mechanical stress) or force sensitive resistance (two-terminal electronic component that can prevent the production of electric current through a voltage drop). Although this Perhaps more than most people want to know, the result is that when one of these blocks is beaten, the voltage change is triggered in one of these components. This product signals are transmitted to an electronic drum module, or "drum brain." The brain translates the signals into wave, this in turn produces the sound the percussion is the key that was hit. So, leaving aside all the technical jargon, electronic drums are used exactly as regular drums, unless you must first connect.
electronic drums have existed since the early 1970s. Graeme Edge, drummer and songwriter for the band The Moody Blues, and Professor Brian Groves of Sussex University launched the first electronic drum kit 1971's album. This kit and their parents at the beginning there were a number of deficiencies, including the fact that their product was only a very approximate replica of a drum sound real audio. There were also complaints of the limited range of tonal subtlety and dynamics. As a result, the first decades of the first electronic drums were spent in the rock genre, disco and techno, where they could be used to create a specific rhythm, without having to worry about stamps.
kits, however, recent advances have greatly improved the quality of acoustic drums. Syndrum Pollard, Simmons and Yamaha now produce kits professionals feel almost indistinguishable in sound from the acoustic equipment. Other manufacturers Boom Theory, drum technique, Fashion and many other others. The improvements have included elements as more realistic hi-hats, a better digital quality samples and detection of dynamic impact.
As the drum machine has improved the ranks of his followers have also inflated. Today, the list of professional musicians who use or have used a drum machine is respectable and includes: Phil Collins, Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, Roger Taylor of Queen, Stuart Elliot of The Alan Parsons Project Rieflin REM, Alex Van Halen and more.
Percussion instruments are perhaps the oldest type of musical instruments in history. The voice, of course, was probably the first instrument, with percussion coming in as a close second. When you think about the drum and percussion, in it’s rural beginnings, you may think of tribal beats from Africa, and maybe the Polynesias.
The term ‘percussion’ comes from the Latin terms ‘percussion’ and ‘percussus’, roughly translates to the beating of something with another object; it can be the sound created by clapping hands, beating sticks, logs, rocks or anything else that emits a noise or creates an audible vibration once struck. In modern time, when you hear the word percussion, the drum probably comes to mind. Percussion instruments have come a long way from their beginnings to create complex and enjoyable sounds that become an integral part of the layering and texture of music today.
The drum is perhaps one of the earliest inventions of the percussion instruments. Originally, the drum was comprised of hollowed out logs of trees. You may have seen versions at luaus. Eventually, the drum came to be a hollowed out stump with a leather skin stretched over it. In Eastern countries the drum was used in meditation practice, and in the South Pacific, the drums were used in ceremonial chants and dances. For many, the importance of the drum was to create rhythmic patterns. These rhythmic patterns are the back bone of music.
As the back bone of a musical composition, the drums may not be recognized as crucial or the top of mind when you think about modern day music, but for musicians, it is recognized that the drummer, and the bass player are really the core of the band. They may not be the ones that the crowd is cheering for, but they are the people that keep everything grounded. A group with a bad drummer is not a group very long…or a successful group very long.
Percussion Instruments have been used all throughout history, which is evident when studying what instruments people used in the past. And, while the drum may be mainly focused to some popular uses like traditional Rock, and Jazz, the drum is still prominent in Japanese culture, military marching, and tribal cultures. The next time you are enjoying your favorite cd, ask yourself what makes it so good. You may realize that the drums have alot to do with it.
