What this kind of percussion instrument metal pipe sometimes used for performances Taiko?

I yield slightly different Taiko (drum Japanese) and I realized that often incorporate a strange instrument that looks like a big metal tube with a diameter in the middle, and the diameters small on each side, played horizontally and beaten with small metal bats. It is not a vibraphone and tubular bells. This is a large pipe in position about 2.1 horizontal foot-long solid performance only three tones. What is this instrument? I can not find any information on this topic.

Kane is a type of bell in Japan. The same pronunciation of the word in Japanese can also mean or silver metal. It is a tradition in Japan to ring the bells 108 times larger Buddhist temples a few minutes before the new year. This tradition is called "no kane jooya. Often the accompaniment of traditional Japanese music, or min'you, is a dish in the form of "Kane", or bell. It is often hung on a bar, and the player has the hood in place of a hand, and struck with a mallet Kane special to others. There are two specific sounds that made Kane: "chin" and "kon." Chin is when the hammer hits the bell inside, so which is when the mallet hits the inner circle kon and flat. When teachers of the Kane dictate the pace of the students to emulate, he / she is using words chin "And" kon. "IE-" Kon Kon chiki-chiki chiki chin chin kon kon kon … "* add that I know is looking kind of pipe. But Japanese taiko usually interpreted using this type of "Kane." Could not find the type of pipe bifuuren http://www13.ocn.ne.jp/ ~ / kaneeng.htm

If you want advice at the time of a drum major, I suggest Ask your question in an article where someone might actually know what you mean. This is the section of classical music (Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, etc.). Do you know how to answer your question? I suggest you ask your question in the "arts of the stage and be more careful in future in accounting field.

What other tools included in the project of music?

I'm looking to record music in the vein of Nick Drake, Radiohead, Belle and Sebastian and Andrew Bird. I'm undecided if I want a very stripped of his or total, with several instruments. I pretty much emphasis on the inclusion of the congas, piano, cello and guitar. Have a bit of harmonica. What other tools do you think works well with this mixture Current? I think I'm looking for a good balance. I am looking into getting the melodica and mandolin. I am also looking in some Indian instruments like the harmonium, which I especially like Beck's Nobody's fault but mine, and sitar. The problem is that the more I learn the tools, I have less time to complete. Piano my main instrument, so I started a year and a half to play guitar. Also should consider cost. A decent harmonium probably expensive.

Hi Mike – Probably the cheapest way to go from being the music / MIDI software such as Cakewalk / Sonar. Not only can you keep your instrument's current range of real life with him, you can also call / implement a MIDI track with an endless supply of digital displays virtual instrument and add it to your own tracks, and watch / Sonar They fit almost all MIDI instruments imaginable, from a single block of wood for body of the church so complex, and everything else. If you wish, email me and I can send some samples.
