How to Be an Awesome Drummer

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Drummers are a special breed and there’s really no one like them. If you take a look at any popular rock band, the drummer will stand out in some special way. They are usually soft-spoken and they definitely don’t command a lot of attention. But when it comes time to doing their job, they can outshine their bandmates on any occasion. When it comes to the glue that binds a band together, no one is more important than the drummer. It’s a special position that is often only appreciated by true music aficionados, but luckily more people are recognizing what it takes to be a great one. If you think it’s something that might interest you, then here are some things to understand before proceeding.

Drumming is definitely something that attracts a special group of people, and having an interest is a good start. But you also have to possess the natural ability to keep a good rhythm, and that’s not something everyone has. It might seem like a simple thing, but you have to have an internal metronome that keeps time almost in a mechanical way. When you think about how a song is played and what is necessary to keep one flowing smoothly, you’ll begin to understand the importance of the drummer. In a way, you’ll be the person responsible for the direction of the song and whether or not your band can pull it off. That’s a big responsibility, and it’s often one that goes unrewarded because the lead singer will get most of the recognition.

There are also special considerations for anybody who wants to become a drummer. First of all, you should expect to devote years to practice and preparation in order to get to the level you want. Anyone can sit in front of a drum set and bang the symbols or push the pedal, but sounding great is an entirely different matter. And when you think about it, practicing might not be as practical as with other instruments. Let’s face it, when you practice drumming it’s going to be allowed and it might disturb other members of your household, or even your neighbors. Unlike with an electric guitar, you can’t simply plug-in a few audio gadgets like wireless headphones to limit the noise. Fortunately, there are ways to soundproof certain rooms so that you won’t be disturbing so many people. And thanks to modern technology such as video games or karaoke machines, you have interesting musical alternatives to practice without requiring your bandmates to be present.

In the end, if you decided to become a drummer then you’ve certainly chosen a noble musical position. It’s also important to recognize the history of drumming and how far it has progressed. That’s why you should spend time listening to some of your favorite drummers and their rock bands. You’ll be able to hear subtle nuances and differences that distinguish their talent. Hopefully with dedication and practice, you’ll reach their heights one day.

The flamenco guitar

Sunday, December 18th, 2011

I have always believed that everyone requires at least one major stress buster. In my case, as a change from writing about topics such as the best autoresponder, I write about music and food. Here is one of my occasional music blogs.

Flamenco guitars are traditionally made out of wood with sycamore or rosewood being used for the back and sides while the top is made of spruce. This accounts for the distinctive color and also makes Flamenco guitars lighter than classical guitars. Volume is very important for flamenco guitarists so that they can be heard over the sound of the shoes with nails that are worn by flamenco dancers. Often to obtain increased volume, hard woods are used to make the back and sides with softer wood being used for the top.

Unlike classical guitars, a Flamenco guitar has a plastic plate which protects the body of the guitar from the constant tapping of the fingers which is essential to flamenco technique. However, in due course, a guitar that is frequently used sustains damage to the top. The space between the strings and the fingerboard is lower than that of a classical guitar. As a result, the Flamenco guitarists can achieve greater finger speed with less fatigue.

A high quality Flamenco guitar has a quick response with less sustain than a classical guitar. This helps the guitarists to produce a quick cascade of notes with a degree of clarity that may not always be available on a classical guitar. Musicians like the percussive and bright sound of the Flamenco guitar and it is sometimes used by guitarists will perform jazz and Latin music. Some musicians also believe that the guitar is best suited for performing Baroque and Renaissance classical music.

Flamenco guitar playing techniques differ considerably from classical guitar. For instance, Flamenco guitarists cross their legs and hold the guitar parallel to the floor. This helps in their playing techniques because the guitar supports the right arm at the elbow rather than the forearm.

Remembering the Beatles

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

As a break from stock market investing advice, I often use music as a stress buster. The other day, it struck me that despite their profound influence on modern popular music, the contribution of the Beatles now seems to have been forgotten. I decided therefore to revisit the group and remind myself of their accomplishments.

It has often been said that the history of jazz is the four words “Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker” because their influence was so profound. The Beatles are in a similar position when it comes to rock music. In the beginning, like many other musicians, they imbibed and absorbed the influence of musicians that had preceded them. As they matured musically, they created a new art form that combined isolated characteristics into a coherent whole. This was such a monumental accomplishment that it would be safe to say that no musician who followed them to the present day remained untouched by their influence.

They had many talents of which the most important arguably was the songwriting skills of Lennon and McCartney. Some musical experts consider them to be the greatest songwriters since Schumann a couple of centuries ago. They regarded their song lyrics as serious poetry which is why they are probably the most covered songwriters by other musicians in the history of music. It was once estimated that there are more than 2000 versions of their famous song “Yesterday”. Every song of theirs stands out as unique.

Lennon and McCartney had wonderful singing voices though all four of them could sing to an acceptable level. As a result, complex harmony and multilayered vocals became characteristic of their style. Despite this technical virtuosity, their songs had elements of simplicity that appealed to a much wider audience than rock had traditionally reached. Again, as with their song lyrics, they used their voices in a variety of ways and every song has different arrangements. Unlike other rock musicians who had a slapdash and carefree attitude to song recording, the Beatles had a structured and disciplined approach where no detail was too small.

How to paint a drum kit?

I paint my Mapex Q series drum kit. I know I have to be dismantled and the sand it and what no. But my real question is, do I have to remove the film de''''qu'elle in it? If so, how I can do this? And if I take the drum from collapsing?

Take the short film nescesary and easy. Find the seam, that heat with a hairdryer for a minute or two, then up the joint with a knife or spatula and remove the battery. Go slowly and carefully to avoid while pulling up the wood. The surface must remain intact the movie is just a cover that is not something together. Put "remove the film Drum" on google or web forums to search for battery manufacturers, as ghostnote Drumshed and detailed instructions. These forums are also a good place for ideas easy and economical way to finish.

The Beatles Rock Band is a good way to improve the Voice

I tried to improve my singing in various ways over the past two years and, surprisingly, I found that one of the most effective ways to practice (and improvement) of The Beatles playing Rock Band. What I really like is that I can also practice my harmony with it because it has a special harmony mode (unlike any other game of Rock Band) that allows you to identify the real harmonies that John, Paul, George and sang in their classic songs.

When using the game to practice singing, I think it's best to enter the expert mode, and then go to "training" the game so you can practice particular song over and over again until you get the notes and the exact time. Of course, after sufficient training, you can go regular part of the game to see if you can run a big score in expert mode for an entire song.

No doubt recommended to keep the expert mode because that way you can see how it does, you can see if you hit the right notes. Alternative is too easy and you can not really say when you're out. Even if you're a total beginner to sing and have a real time trouble staying in the key could fall to a more easy for a while just to increase your confidence.

The game comes with more than 40 Beatles songs to choose what is undoubtedly much to get started, but we also note that it is likely that over time All songs of the Beatles (or at least most) will be available for download. So far I think Abbey Road and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Complete album) are available for download as well as songs that come with the game

With practice my song, also practice my drums with the game that read people who learn to play the drums in rock band very well and then are actually able to move right on the battery really not much of a stretch. Playing drums in this game, I quite see how this can happen. The expert mode at all beating the drum in the song is in the game so if you can hit all-time in the game, then you can do in real life. It is very super comfortable.

And what distinguishes The Beatles Rock Band is different from other games when Rock Band drum, which has a great practice mode that drum beat is becoming the basis for much more complex and bumps (very important) can change the tempo. You can start playing a slow tempo to lower and then increase the pace as you improve.

I should also mention that despite be an excellent way to improve her singing and drum, this game is fun too!

What is the difference between battery and Gretsch Catalina Maple Maple fame together?

What causes the battery to significantly Gretsch Catalina Maple cheaper than Gretsch Renown Maple kit, if both series are ply maple shells-6?

I would say that the finishes are much better quality Fame. Fame also have an inner liner (a bit like a gray metal), which helps maintain a strong increase of the shell attack. Reputation are the best when it comes to quality, but sound, you may not be a big difference

African Imported
in 1800, how European countries are starting to increase contact with thei Africa?

1. puseh sent explorers within Africa and missionaries to convert people to Christianity. 2. that increased trade with Africa and imported more African slaves in their country. 3. redirect trade routes to familiarize themselves with the African soil. 4. which sent doctors and scientists to improve the quality of life of many African populations.

TRUE 1. convert people to the European influence was a step in making these nations European colonies. 3. The interior of Africa has not been explored by Europeans during the trafficking slave as the leaders did not say, but trade with the banks, but after the slave kingdoms have been devastated many small armies and the public were against them because of their actions, the Europeans could look forward with less resistance and wanted ease. They map of Africa to find faster routes, FALSE etc. 2. the importation of slaves was abolished in 1807 by Britain, which in turn controlled seas. 4. Improve the standard of life has no meaning, living in good conditions only after slavery and colonization have many civil wars in Africa today.
